I am a organic master gardener and food grower, I have studied plants and natural medicine on my own, I am fully into the idea of living off the land, no money etc. I think to get started you might need some volunteers to build gardens, compost piles not to mention housing etc. but I was just thinking that you should gather together a good lot of book or everyone put there books together and have a library on plant medicines, midwifery and all the things that are important. I love this idea and am willing to help in any way, I would love to come live there but that would involve leaving my husband.. which if we didn't have a child might be easy!! lol

Awe Genevieve, it's allright. You're welcome to come & stay whenever you like, =].

That's such a great idea though. To have everyone bring at least one book on plants. I'm definitely going to mention that in our future group discussions, thanks hun =].
.. I just read a preview of Tom Brown's edible plants book & wilderness "survival" & I love how he talks about respecting everything living. Unlike all of the other edible plant books Ive read. I expecially like his chapter on eating other animals- the hunter & the hunted become one. It's the most "real" book on wilderness living I've encountered so far. =]

I'm not sure about volunteers though, this is still something I want to discuss with everyone living here. I dont think it's a very good idea to have a lot of volunteers, people coming & going you know. I want it to be kind of low-key. The only other visitors or helpers being family & friends who have the strength to hike all the way out here =P.

hi kayla. i sent you a request to join via smart phone and im not entirely for sure that it sent. so just in case my gmail is bonztherumny1986@gmail.com. i agree with the books idea. my only question is the land issue? will there be some sort of land tax? i live in the united states so im not familar with other country laws. do you have to buy the land? these 2 problems is the only thing that has kept me from doing this myself.

No. Liberalism is in place of religion, so disagreement is "evil."

Mondays are meshed with Tuesdays and the week with the whole year. Time cannot be cut with your weary scissors, and all the names of the day are washed out by the waters of night. No one can claim the name of Pedro, nobody is Rosa or Maria, all of us are dust or sand, all of us are rain under rain. They have spoken to me of Venezuelas, of Chiles and of Paraguays; I have no idea what they are saying. I know only the skin of the earth and I know it is without a name. When I lived amongst the roots they pleased me more than flowers did, and when I spoke to a stone it rang like a bell. It is so long, the spring which goes on all winter. Time lost its shoes. A year is four centuries. When I sleep every night, what am I called or not called? And when I wake, who am I if I was not while I slept? This means to say that scarcely have we landed into life than we come as if new-born; let us not fill our mouths with so many faltering names, with so many sad formalities, with so many pompous letters, with so much of yours and mine, with so much of signing of papers. I have a mind to confuse things, unite them, bring them to birth, mix them up, undress them, until the light of the world has the oneness of the ocean, a generous, vast wholeness, a crepitant fragrance. - Pablo Neruda.
